Story Bird: Sherri

Sherri is a VERY active 1 1/2 'too. I had taken her, in her cage, out onto our balcony for some fresh air/sun. I was sitting next to her reading when all of a sudden I heard a blood curdling scream. I looked at her cage and she had gotten her foot stuck inside one of the plastic links, on the link chain I had just bought for her. Unfortunately while her foot was stuck in the link, she was holding herself upside down pulling the link tighter on her foot as she struggled to get away from the toy. Since I had attached one end on the top of the cage, her body weight was pulling the chain taught against her foot. I was able to free her foot, no damage done, in fact she went right back to trying to play with the toy. I removed the toy and she can now play with it on the ground, where she pulls it around in glee. I was glad I was around when this incident happened. I would hate to think what would have happened had I been at work. There was no way she could have freed herself.
