Story Bird: Abby

My parrot, Abby, was playing on a toy that had a large C hook (EDITOR'S NOTE: THIS IS A QUICKLINK). The hook was not screwed tight and Abby opened it and got her head in between the opening and the bottom of the hook. The hook went up under her beak ( in the throat area) and was wedged in there. She could not get off and she was flopping around screaming. Luckily we were home to get ahold of her and help her to get off or I think I would of came home to a dead bird because I had a hard time getting her beak out of the bottom part of the C hook. We now make sure we tighten the C hooks with a pliers. That was a horrible experience and never want it to happen again.
