Story Bird: Lemonade

I got a "pacifier" toy for my lovebirds.  It was attached with a quicklink to the front of the cage.  One evening, Lemonade began "trashing" in one spot,  right "beside" the pacifier.  I wasn't aware that the round handle was big enough for her to get her head in BUT too small to get her head back out.  I was standing right beside her cage so was able to help her to safety.  If I had not been home, she would have hung herself.  She was very scared but otherwise unharmed.  Thanks to that incident and your site, I know to have rings too small to get her head in or big enough to get her whole body through.

BIRDSAFE NOTE:  Like many toy parts, these pacifiers should be sized for the bird.  A good rule of thumb for toy parts is that they have no opening any larger than the bar spacing on your bird's cage (assuming you have the right size cage for your bird).
